Caleb has been woodworking for years. He began making challah boards for himself and his friends to use in their Sabbath meals. The abundant appreciation and success of his craft soon became a business. For the brand strategy, identifying the meaning behind the commandment of breaking bread in Judaism, shaped the entire project.
The breaking of challah bread over the Sabbath is actually a mitzvah (or, commandment) given to the Jewish people. Finding joy in these commandments, taking pride in their fulfillment, and beautifying the process with aesthetics, is strongly encouraged.
A lot of care went into creating the tagline for Rina Artworks. Celebrate Shabbat Beautifully alludes to the joy and happiness that is experienced on the Sabbath when the Jewish people tune out from work and technology and tune into family and the Divine. The business name, Rina, means Joy in Hebrew.
All of these considerations went into imagining Caleb’s brand strategy and visual identity. The brand was developed paying close attention to the symbolism and meaning behind this community practice.
For the Rina Artworks social media graphics, we utilized the warm color palette and newly branded graphics to create several templates in Canva. These were fully editable templates that can be used for content creation for months to come. The easily changeable graphics and colors make for easy customization.
His dedication to his craft and the passion behind his own Sabbath observance ensures each piece is crafted and packaged with the joy that comes with welcoming Shabbat.
